GENERAL :

Comida typica -  typical Dominican food - is now offered in the  buffets in many all-inclusive hotels. International cuisine - from Italian to Arabic -seems to be more in demand than home cooking.
The big cities are cosmopolitan with many international specialty restaurants - and the obligatory fast food restaurants.
A lovely feature is the Dominican family and often very simple "comedor" - canteen, wher location-known cooks or chefs serve a changing daily special.
On most beaches there are small fish restaurants serving fresh fish daily.
