Money for food and drink as well as the entrence to the Fort "San Felipe" in Puerto Plata.

Tour Puerto Plata: > medium <

 

Around 9:00 am we start from Sosua to Puerto Plata. We pass the airport, Puerto Plata and we
drive through the villages Cangrejo and Montellano. On the hill "Star Hills' we leave the main
road and drive about 15 km over crush rock roads.

 

We pass through Dominican villages and experience the hospitality of the locals.

 

After about 30 minutes we reach the village of "El Copey" at the foot of the local mountain of
Puerto Plata the "Isabel de Torres" with a height of 790m. From there a tarred, winding road
leads to the summit.

 

A statue of Christ, a botanical garden and as well a breathtaking panorama over Puerto Plata
and the north coast awaits us. With these impressions, the journey continues through Puerto
Plata to Maimon, where we stop at a local restaurant for lunch (fresh fish, chicken or meat).

 

After this break we drive through a part of Puerto Plata and make another stop at the Fort 
"San Felipe" at the harbor entrance of Puerto Plata.

 

After the sightseeing, we drive along the Malecon (beach promenade) from Puerto Plata back
to Sosua.

 

 

Tour  duration: 5 - 6 hours

 

 

 

Tour Bella Vista > easy <

 

Start in Sosua at 9.00 am. After 5 minutes drive on the main road to the airport, we reach the entrance "Bella Vista". From there it goes on crush rock roads to the river "Yasica".

 

After a short break, the tour continues through the terrain up to a waterfall, while you can
refresh yourself or  take a bath.

 

On the way back to Sosua we drive over a beautiful mountain road with spectacular views to
the sea.

 

Arriving at the beach of Sosua, there is the possibility to strengthen yourself in the
"Moskitobar".

 

Tour  duration: about 4 hours

 

 

 

 

 

Tour Cibao Valley > challenging < about 180 km

 

Start at 8.00am. From Sosua we go to Puerto Plata. Half way we turn left onto the tourists - mountain road. Passing coffee-, cocoa- and banana plantations as well as fruit sale stalls we arrive Santiago after about 1 hour.

 

From here we drive through the Cibao valley towards Moca.

 

Shortly before Moca we go back into the mountains to the viewpoint "Restaurant Cafeto". 
There we get fit by lunch with a impressive view over the Cibao valley.

 

The way back continues through Jamao, Sabaneta, Cabarete to Sosua.

LA MULATA > easy ... perfect with Children

Start  at 9:30am  in Sosua, La Mulata. Experience first-hand the Dominican hinterland with
its gorges and forests.

 

Learn more about the wildlife as well as plants and fruit.
After the gained impressions there we have the possibility, to eat something in a small
restaurant at the starting point.

Along the northern coast towards Samana:

From 7:00 am to about 19.00pm. Visit the most beautiful beaches and lonely bays of the north coast!

 

By foot or on a horse through the jungle we visit the waterfall "El Limon", in which you can
swim. Back at the starting point, there is the opportunity to eat a fresh fish, chicken or meat 
to get new power.
