The metro buses don’t run as often as Caribe Tour buses, but they have a better service.

From Puerto Plata to Santiago and Santo Domingo

The bus leaves at 6:00am, 9:00am, 11:00am, 02:00pm, 4:00pm, 6:30pm.

From Sosua to Santiago and Santo Domingo

GENERAL:

In the Dominican Republic there are good bus companies, such as CARIBE TOURS or METRO TOURS.

The luxury coaches connect the main destination in the country.

The buses are air-conditioned and provide movies for entertainment while on board, it’s pleasant to travel. For a low cost you are able to explore the island from one coast to the other when you easily organize your tours by bus.

It takes 3.5 hours to journey from Puerto Plata to Santo Domingo and is costs around 10 euros.

The bus will stop at Santiago de los Caballeros and La Vega for short rest breaks.

Travelling by bus is comfortable and offers interesting and beautiful views of the island. It is also a great opportunity to come in close contact with the locals.

Attention: If you go by these buses, take a jacket with you or something warm to wear, the air conditioning is set always very high. After a few minutes you are freezing. Sometimes the buses are set as low as 18 degrees Celsius.
