The gas station network in the Dominican Republic is well developed. Shell, Texaco, Esso, etc. are scattered everywhere.

The official gas stations are usually open from 6:00am - 10:00pm, some have 24-hour service.
The advertised fuel prices always refers to a gallon, that's 3,785 liters.
Gasoline can be filled up both unleaded (sin plomo) and leaded (con plomo or regular).
As well diesel (gasoil) is available at gas stations. The gas stations are not self service.
The gas station attendant will fill up the car and for few pesos he checks the oil and water and cleans the windows
TIP: Be careful when refueling and always keep an eye on the gauge otherwise they might not fill the tank as much as you are charged for.
If it’s possible, always pay with pesos, the exchange rate is always bad.
Often they accept credit cards.
