Punta Cana - Airport
The Punta Cana International Airport is 10 to 45 minutes away from the respective hotels of this region.
Anybody who thinks that landing in Punta Cana is just like any other ordinary airport is mistake. The first glance at the main building reveals that staying in the Dominican Republic is a very special experience.
The roof of the airport is made from dried palm leaves with a strong sturdy backbone of wood and stone columns. The whole complex has a feeling of airy lightness. If you are lucky local musicians will provide you with a warm welcome immediately after your arrival. Even the baggage claim and immigration take place in an open environment.
Transport
Although the local streets appear like a labyrinth, they have their own logic. They generally leads north to Uvero Alto / Macao; in the center of the hotel zone to Arena Gorda, Bávaro, El CORTECITO and Cabeza de Toro and south to Punta Cana / Cap Cana.
The Boulevard Express significantly reduced the journey time from the airport to most hotels. An express bus runs several times daily from Punta Cana to Santo Domingo. There are buses to La Romana, with a stopover in Higuey.
TIP: There are many international car rental companies at the airport. If your group includes two or more people it is worth it to rent a car.
You are independent and can reach all destinations on the island in less time.
Often the car rental companies also have discount, so compare!
Renting a car will also make the trip to the North Coast very interesting.
Since the flights to Punta Cana are a lot cheaper than Puerto Plata.
A price comparison is worthwhile, even though it might take up to five hours to arrive at your destination.
There are also car rental companies that send a driver with car and pick you up.
TIP: For example, as Easy Rider from Cabarete. They do it for $ 250 one
route and you also go back for $ 250. This price makes it worth it for two or more people.

>>> Gasoline cost for a small car for 2 persons approx. 4000 pesos
The toll from Punta Cana airport to the north coast is about 1500 pesos.
A small car costs about 2400 pesos per day, plus fuel about 4000 pesos plus 1500 pesos toll = 7900 pesos for a route. That’s in Euros about 140 Euros. For two people makes the per capita 70 Euros.
TIP: You can also go by public transport. There are buses to Santo Domingo. From there to the north coast with Metro or Caribe Tour. This costs about 900 pesos = 16 Euro. But you have to expect that you have to stay one night. Depending on when the machines arrive. After 18:00pm no more buses.
The beaches of Punta Cana
Punta Cana is known around the world for its endless beaches, upscale hotels, romantic settings, and amazing golf courses.
The beaches of the east coast of the Dominican Republic in the province of Altagracia are referred to the best beaches in the world by many who have visited them.

With a few exceptions, there are no restrictions from the hotel for visitors to walk from one hotel to another via the beach, even if this is frequently interrupted by sections without any tourism projects.
Punta Cana
Punta Cana, here began the development of tourism on the east coast.
White sandy beaches with calm waters protected by an eight-kilometer-long coral reef, which runs parallel to the coast.
Here are the hotels: Club Med, and Puntacana Hotel Tortuga Bay and several real estate projects. A highlight is diving in the Acuario and kitesurfing at Playa Blanca.
The nearest major town is Higuey (50 km). The most important historical site in Higuey is the pilgrimage church, the Basilica de Nuestra Senora de la Altagracia, where the famous painting of the Virgen de la Altagracia is exhibited. During a visit of the daily market you experience the Caribbean fireworks to odors and colors.
