TIP: If you do not know Cabarete yet, you must visit it. This flair on the beach is unique, you can’t describe it, you have to experience it. Sitting on the beach, in a cozy bar under the palm trees or in a restaurant, watch the kite surfers and wind surfers or enjoy the sunset, is phenomenal .

Throughout the year there are many events on the beach.

 

Besides windsurf, kite and surf you can also practice  

Stand Up Paddeling  in Cabarete. Early in the morning out on the water is a dream. 

 

Or even paddle through the Lagoon de which is surrounding Cabarete.

In July and August there are two windsurfing events.
 
One is the Butterfly Effect, and is for only women to participate in.

And then the Wind Surf Classic in which all can participate. 

 

 

CARIBBEAN LASER MIDWINTER REGATTA 

 

Marks the beginning of the global calendar of Laser Sailing Regatta, attracting the best in the world.

 

This event is celebrated every January in Cabarete. 

This event is funded by Laser Training Center with the help of the Dominican Federation Vela.

In the evening hours Cabarete transforms: Dozens of restaurants and bars light up the entire beach area and make the choice difficult, where to dine right on the beach, under the stars.
 
The evening often begins with a happy hour from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, which is available in many bars and restaurants.

 

In some bars there is a happy hour with live music. 

 

Then after 11:00, some restaurants turn into nightclubs.
 
Since then the nightlife starts. The discos are open until 3:00am.
 
Then it's usually to continue with the party somewhere private.

 

TIP:  If you want to go out in the evening, don’t do it before 11:00am because at this time the nightlife of Cabarete begins slowly and ends in the early morning hours.

Horseback riding, quad tours, boat trips on the lagoon or river, hiking in the surrounding mountains or skateboarding, Salsa lessons Yoga, Zumba, Fitness, uand much more.

TIP: It is worthwhile to look at the caves, there are several and you can swim in the cool, crystal clear water.

MASTERS SURF SESSION 

 

Every year in November all generations of surfers gather at Playa Encuentro, one of the most popular places of surfing. This is a time when all ages compete.

The best waves are
it in the morning from 6 clock on.

 

 

 

 

TIP: If you want to go to Playa Encuentro, best to take a motoconcho (100 pesos one way) or by motorbike, car, bike. Since this beach is located some 5 min. from the main road and there is no public transport there.
 

Cabarete and its beach are the mekka in the Caribbean for windsurf, kiteboard,surf  and sailing (Laser).

 

One of the best places in the world.
 
The beach in Cabarete is just 15 minutes east of Sosúa, and was classified by the "Professional Windsurfing Association", the "Professional Kite Riders Association" and the "International Laser Class Association" as one of the best beaches in the world to practice these sports.

 

During the summer months, when waves and wind are the most favorable, many competitions are held in all three sports.

In Cabarete can find a movie house with many varieties of films for adults and children.
